Drink me [drinks for the weekend]

Today is Friday & we all are planning our weekends. Since this week has been Carroll mania for me I've found a few drinks for some favorite characters of Alice in Wonderland.

Alice in wonderland
Ingredients:
1 shot Amoretto
1 shot Grand Marnier
1 shot Southern Comfort

To Make:
Combine all three ingredients equally in a glass.

Mad Hatter shot
Ingredients:
1 oz Vodka
1 oz Peach Schnapps
1 oz Lemonade
1 oz Coca-Cola

To Make:
Shake and strain into a shot glass.

The white rabbit
Ingredients:
3 oz Stoli® Vanilla vodka
3 oz vanilla liqueur
1 oz milk
Ice

To Make:
First add ice to a glass. Then add the vodka, vanilla liqueur, & milk. Shake & serve.

Cheshire cat
[otherwise known as the pink pussycat]
Ingredients:
1 oz Peach Schnapps
1 oz Spiced Rum
1 oz Orange Juice
Ice

To Make:
Shake with ice. Pour in a glass over ice.

A Very Merry Unbirthday

We heart it

Today is Lewis Carroll, birth name Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, Birthday [& everyone else's Unbirthday]. He was born this day in Daresbury in Cheshire, England in the year 1832.

Most people know him as the author of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. He was also a "philosopher, mathematician, logician, reverend of the Anglican order, and photographer." More facts at the link.



So in honor of this handsome man, have a day [or week or lifetime!!] of wonderment! Explore your imagination & leave the normalcy of life behind, if you haven't already :). Dress up, even though its a Tuesday/workday/school day have fun! Eat cupcakes, get stuck in teatime & enjoy a few cups, tell your friends riddles even you can't solve, fall down the rabbit hole, & if you have a friend who is too afraid to help them out & pull them down with you. They'll thank you later for opening them up to a new world.

If it is more convenient, have a mad tea party this weekend with close friends & dress up as your favorite character. Extra fun if you all get out of the house dressed up to hang out & spread the magic.

Hello 2009

My apologizes for the lack of blog updates. Lately I've been trying to get my line together & other goodies :).

I've been thinking about slogans for the new year to keep the motivation going. So far I've got: Become your own inspiration. Be the driven force to your success. 2009 WILL be divine. 2009 you'll be your best. (Rhymes.. Dana Seuss?)
